National Dengu Preventing campaign was held by the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the Colombo municipal council.

Aiming to gain a healthy life from nutrious foods, a workshop was held under the patronage of Hon. Environment Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, at community center in Pannala. This workshop was organized by the divisional secretariat of Pannala.

One Day awareness programme on plastic & politheen solid waste management conducted for the officers of the provincial institute government officers, Trade associations & volunteer officers at the Pannala Makadura  La village reception hall on 09th August 2010.

Four young elephants who form the ninth batch of elephants to be released from Udawalawa Elephant Transit home were set free to PAAYUU WEWA  in Lunugamwehera National Park by Hon. Ven. Wewaldoowe Gnanaprabha Thero blessed the baby elephants with Pirith Pan while they were being released to the new home.
